Don’t know yet what Wet Plate Collodion Photography is?

Wetplate is a very old process, rooted in the year 1851. It appeared third in line as commercial photographic application, right after the calotype and the daguerrotype. It consists of a metal plate (tintype) coated with photographic collodion, sensitized in a silver nitrate bath right on location thanks to the use of a portable darkroom, then exposed and processed while still wet. That’s why the name ‘wet plate’.
