Sara’s cut off: un nuovo progetto al collodio umido per Torino Art Week in collaborazione con la galleria d’arte Spazio Musa e Sara Lisanti.
Sono stato invitato dal curatore d’arte Francesco Longo ad esporre le mie lastre della serie ‘Bones‘ insieme a una nuovissima serie di vetri al collodio umido dal titolo “Sara’s cut off” realizzati con Sara Lisanti durante la Torino Art Week dal 1 novembre al 5 novembre, vernissage il 30 ottobre, durante la performance ‘A Rh+’ di Sara allo Spazio Musa.
Sono onorato e orgoglioso di un invito del genere, intrigante e stimolante allo stesso tempo. In una finestra temporale ristretta stiamo lavorando intensamente per rendere disponibile la serie di lastre necessaria per l’apertura. Da alcuni giorni abbiamo allestito nel centro storico di Torino un set portatile per fotografia al collodio umido. Guarda l’avanzamento dei lavori sulla mia pagina Instagram.

Sara Lisanti “A Rh+”
La memoria è ciò che ci definisce nel presente. Attraverso di essa, diventiamo portatori di significato, ma quando viene compromessa, perdiamo la nostra identità, diventando estranei a noi stessi. Senza memoria, non esiste passato, né presente, e le emozioni che derivano dai ricordi si dissolvono.
Questo è il punto di partenza per la performance di Sara Lisanti, performer (anche trapezista), che nel suo spettacolo indaga profondamente la parola “ricordare”. Smontando il termine, lo trasforma in un’esperienza fisica, scandendo le sue sillabe con gesti e pause che diventano frammenti di memoria. “Ri-cordare” diventa il cuore pulsante della sua esibizione, un gioco linguistico e simbolico che apre nuove interpretazioni.
Vestita solo di una corda, Lisanti si confronta con un cuore simbolico, che la nutre e allo stesso tempo la priva. Attraverso movimenti corporei intensi e gesti potenti, l’artista esplora l’alternanza tra momenti di appagamento e caos, portando infine il cuore a esplodere, in un climax che rappresenta il dualismo tra ciò che ci arricchisce e ciò che ci consuma.

Ho unito le foto di Michele Pero alla performance perché il trait d’union e comun denominatore è proprio la memoria che Michele rappresenta nell’arte antica di stampa dei suoi soggetti, specialmente nella versione “Bones” con l’impegno di ricordarci cosa siamo in tutta la “tanto banale” semplicità fisica dell’essere.
Per “Torino Art Week” Michele Pero ha realizzato “Sara’s cut off”, alcune immagini della performer Sara Lisanti, che saranno esposte alla galleria Spazio Musa, con una proroga fino al 17 novembre.
🇬🇧 Sara’s cut off: a new wetplate project for Torino Art Week in collaboration with Spazio Musa art gallery and Sara Lisanti.
I’ve been invited by art curator Francesco Longo to showcase my ‘Bones’ series plates along with ‘Sara’s cut off’, a brand new series of wetplates made with Sara Lisanti during the Torino Art Week from November 1 to November 5, vernissage on October 30th, during the performance ‘A Rh+’ by Sara at Spazio Musa.
I’m honoured and proud of such an invitation, intriguing and challenging at the same time. In a narrow frame window we are working hard to make the required series of plates available for the opening. A portable wetplate set has been set up in the old center of Torino for several days.

Sara Lisanti ‘A Rh+’
Memory is what defines us in the present. Through it, we become carriers of meaning, but when it is compromised, we lose our identity, becoming strangers to ourselves. Without memory, there is no past, no present, and the emotions that arise from memories dissolve.
This is the starting point for the performance of Sara Lisanti, performer (also trapeze artist), who in her show deeply investigates the word ‘remember’. By dismantling the term, she transforms it into a physical experience, marking its syllables with gestures and pauses that become fragments of memory. ‘Re-cording’ becomes the beating heart of his performance, a linguistic and symbolic game that opens up new interpretations.
Dressed only in a rope, Sara is confronted with a symbolic heart, which nourishes her and deprives her at the same time. Through intense bodily movements and powerful gestures, the artist explores the alternation between moments of fulfillment and chaos, ultimately leading the heart to explode, in a climax that represents the dualism between what enriches us and what consumes us.

I combined Michele’s photos with the performance because the trait d’union and common denominator is precisely the memory that Michele represents in the ancient art of printing his subjects, especially in the ‘Bones’ version with the commitment to remind us what we are in all the ‘so mere’ physical simplicity of being.
For the ‘Torino Art Week’ Michele created ‘Sara’s cut off’, some images of the performer Sara Lisanti which will be exhibited at the gallery Spazio Musa with an extension until November 17th.
